After an extremely successful 2 years following their launch of the first website we designed for them, Smart Estate agents were expanding and franchising the business in 2017. Accessible Design was re-commissioned to completely redesign the website to reflect their changing goals. Their main requirements were to improve data gathering and provide a better experience while onboarding new clients.
We conducted a full UX review before designing and prototyping a seamlessly responsive new UI for the site. Feedback told us that users preferred that information was grouped by service – Buying, Selling, Landlords and Lettings. We designed a landing page for each with service-specific content and CTA’s. We added clear CTA’s to the main navigation allowing clients to easily set up viewings and appraisals with minimal friction (this was a major pain point for their clients). The property search functionality was overhauled to reduce the amount of information required from the user to initiate a search.
The new website was clean and clear, explaining processes to the user with a combination of clear images and text. The copy was kept to a minimum. New forms were designed to make interacting with the company easier, tracking information to cut down on time needed by staff to respond and feeding data into their CRM. While accessibility was not a primary requirement for the client, early discussions about usability meant that they were happy to implement a number of our suggestions to improve the overall usability of the product.
